Free (or Cheap) Outdoor Movie Nights 2017


Looking for a special date night that is big on romance, but easy on the wallet? How about a way to treat your family to a night on the town with flair? How about a free movie under the stars? Grab a blanket, a picnic basket and head to one of these free (or cheap) movie nights in Colorado Springs, Monument, and Denver area! Click on the links for more specific information!

FREE MOVIES AT THE CLOCK TOWER AT JACKSON CREEK MARKETPLACE : In June on select Thursdays, bring a blanket and/or chairs to the clock tower between Walmart and Chilis in Monument. Fun starts with activities around 7pm and movie begins around 8:30pm. Movie Schedule: June 9- "Moana", June 30- "Pete's Dragon", July 21 - "Finding Dory", August 11 - "The Secret Life of Pets", NOTE:  August 18 - "Sing" will play down the street at the Tri-Lakes YMCA

FREE MOVIES AT THE FOCUS ON THE FAMILY WELCOME CENTER: Free Family films with complimentary popcorn and juice  while supplies last. Showings at 10am and 12:45pm. Line up includes: June 27 - "Peter Pan" (1953)  July 11 - "The Rescuers" (1977)  July 18 - "Veggie Tales: Larry Boy and the Rumor Weed"  July 25 - Monsters, Inc.  Aug 1 - "Tangled"

HISTORIC ELITCH THEATER FILMS : 4655 W. 37th Ave. (at Utica). Major cross streets, 38th and Tennyson on select summer Fridays. This is a fundraiser for the restoration of the Theater. The First two movies will be shown in the theater where the first screening of a motion picture in Colorado took place in 1896 when Edison brought his Vitascope to Denver!  The indoor line-up is Star Wars The Force Awaken, 7pm on June 16th  with Virtual Reality Stations available from 4 to 6pm.  SING will be a matinee at 2:00 pm on June 17th, with a sing-a-long starting at 1:30 pm and an ice cream social provided by Little Man Ice Cream following the show. The rest of the films will be shown on lawn in front of the theatre. Gate opens at 7pm with live music & raffles. Sandwiches for purchase provided by HEIDI’S DELI. Film starts at 8:30pm, rain or shine. Admission Suggested Donation is $5.   FILM ON THE ROCKS : Featuring a band, a comedian AND a movie at Red Rocks Amphitheater! A most beautiful setting for an interesting selection of films! There is a cost- $15, but for a venue like this, and a concert to boot- it is worth it! You will want to check the link for what you can and can't bring in with you. Cost goes up at the door, so print your tickets at home. Doors open at 6:30pm, bands begin at 7pm and movies at dusk.Movie schedule: May 12 - "Purple Rain" (with a local all-star tribute to Prince), May 23 - "Grease" ( with Lissie + Megan Burtt & the Cure for Love), May 30 - "The Big Lebowski" ( with Anthony Ruptak and the Midnight Friends + The River Arkansas) June 15 - "Citizen Kane" (and a celebration of the 75th Anniversary of the amphitheater) June 20 - "Ferris Bueller's Day Off" (With Strawberry Runners + The Baltic)  July 11 - "The Sandlot" (Special Guests + Brent Cowles) July 25 - "Labyrinth" (with School of rock Tribute to Bowie)  August 23 - "Deadpool" (with The Blue Rider) and September 6 - "Star Wars: the Force Awakens" (with Rose Quartz)
